German group Boney M. Recorded a version of the song, which served as the opening track on their Christmas album in 1981.
The song was originally named Carol of the Drum, a popular Christmas song written by American classical music composer Katherine Kennicott Davis in 1941.
In addition, the song has also been performed by a variety of artists, including A capella group Pentatonix and Justin Bieber.
